We convey a cohesive and consistent Rice message that honors the university’s distinguished reputation, world-class academics and research, and commitment to unconventional wisdom.
By leveraging a variety of tactics and platforms, including advertising campaigns, websites, video creation and social media, we convey how Rice challenges convention every day.
Marketing serves Rice University by providing resources and guidance to help ensure that the institution’s marketing and communications initiatives are aligned with the university’s brand and identity. Maintaining consistency in messaging and design across the university reinforces the Rice brand. Working closely with Creative Services, our department protects the legal rights and ownership of Rice’s trademarks and the promotion of the university through use of the Rice Brand Standards.
Our team oversees the university’s main social media channels and provides consulting services to departments and other offices. We also offer strategy and best practice guidelines to provide the campus with a framework for developing a successful, on-brand social media program. Public Affairs Video Services creates short videos reporting on special events, research developments, expert commentary and timely feature stories. Videos are posted on the Rice YouTube channel and distributed through Rice News, Rice.edu, social media channels and media pitches to support university-wide priorities.
Videos may be used by schools, departments and other Rice organizations for their websites, publications and presentations.
